Learning Support
Students are supported academically and socially through their time at Cathedral School. At the individual level, small group level, and class level, we ensure students’ supports help students achieve their academic and personal success.

Academic Support
In the classroom, we always aim to have a 1:10 teacher to student ratio. These classroom ratios are supported by BC Certified Associate Teachers and trained Educational Assistants. Low ratios and smaller class sizes create an environment that allows for breakout spaces and inclusive learning strategies.
Students have the option to select their supports during the designated What I Need (WIN) blocks that allows students’ autonomy in their learning and to ask for the support they need. WIN gives our students the unique opportunity to learn what they need at that moment to allow for flexibility to each individual student.
Social Support
We uphold a multifaceted approach to the holistic wellbeing of our student. Our Open Parachute curriculum expands the Social Emotional Learning (SEL) of the BC curriculum with age appropriate learning for each age group. The program begins in Junior Kindergarten and continues to Grade 8.
