Junior Kindergarten Teacher
Cathedral School is seeking a passionate and caring Preschool / Junior Kindergarten Teacher to create a supportive, engaging, and nurturing learning environment for young children. The Preschool Teacher will be responsible for planning and implementing age-appropriate educational activities, fostering emotional, social, and cognitive development, and building positive relationships with both children and their families. We are pleased to offer a full-time position in a supportive and engaging environment, with an immediate start date for the right candidate.

Educational Requirements

Early Childhood Education Certification, Elementary Education Teacher Certification, or a related field.

First Aid certification is an asset.
Responsibilities
-
Develop and implement age-appropriate lesson plans that align with the school's curriculum and early childhood education standards.

Plan and organize daily activities that promote early learning in key areas such as literacy, numeracy, social skills, physical development, and creativity.

Foster a positive and stimulating learning environment through hands-on activities, creative play, and structured learning experiences.

Introduce basic concepts of literacy, numeracy, social studies, and science through interactive lessons and activities.
Manage classroom behaviour using positive discipline strategies. -
Observe and assess children’s progress, providing regular feedback to parents/guardians.

Communicate regularly with parents about their child's development and classroom activities.

Ensure compliance with licensing regulations and safety standards.

Collaborate with other teachers, staff, and administration to promote the overall development of children.

Maintain records of each child's activities, progress, and behavior.

Qualifications
-
Prior experience working with young children (preferably in a preschool setting).

Strong understanding of child development principles and age-appropriate teaching methods.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.

Patience, creativity, and enthusiasm for working with young children.

Strong organizational and time-management skills.​
