Christ Church Cathedral School places a high emphasis on the visual arts program The classroom teachers, aided by parent Julia Halliday ensure plenty of opportunities for the children to explore different media and develop their artistic skills. Student’s work adorns the classroom walls and corridors. We continue to tie into the resources of the Art Gallery of Greater Victoria. Art reproductions can be borrowed to inspire the students and they visit exhibitions such as the recent Samurai show. We are slowly collecting reproductions of famous works of Canadian art to display around the School, and we are most proud of our Christmas Art Show, which occurred December 13 through 15th, 2005, as well as the “Seven Days Of Creation” wall hanging, which was made by all the children of the School in 2002—2003. It hangs in the entranceway and attests to the importance of the visual arts in our lives. Our Image Gallery can be found at the top of this page
