Parents of children who attend Christ Church Cathedral School have written about their School, and you may find their comments useful in helping you to decide whether our School is right for you and your child.

“Cathedral School is a safe, nurturing and respectful place in which my children have learned not only the important core curricula such as Math, Language Arts, Social Studies etc., as well as strong Christian values, but also basic life lessons such as respect and confidence in oneself, respect for others and respect for property. They learn to be charitable by helping others less fortunate. These are essential teachings and as a result my children are turning into kind, thoughtful and decent human beings. Cathedral School continues to teach all of these things to our children by providing an excellent, well-rounded, quality education that produces children who are equipped to progress through life with the skills they have learned. I highly recommend Cathedral School.”

“My child has blossomed academically, personally and spiritually since joining the Christ Church Cathedral School community. Both the teaching and the administrative staff are dedicated, approachable and sincere. They continually strive for excellence, and together with the entire CCCS community, have achieved so many goals. My child particularly enjoys the use of the new writing centre, library, and singing in the Cathedral. Cathedral School is a wonderful place to learn, laugh and grow.”

“Our whole family absolutely loves this school. It is a place full of happiness, joy and peace. All the teachers are excellent and bring out the best in their students. The Head of School and all the staff are enthusiastic, friendly and always helpful. At the assemblies every student’s birthday and all the big and small individual and collective achievements are celebrated. Events and shows highlight the artistic and athletic ability of the students. Children from all grades are friends and look out for each other. Cathedral School is like one big happy family.”

“We, as parents, like many others, firmly believe that a child’s early years at school play a critical part in defining that child’s path through the rest of their life and so when we decided to put our child into Christ Church Cathedral School it was not without much careful consideration.

Our experience at Cathedral School has made these precious years at school an extension of our family life. The teachers have encouraged partnerships with the parents. They clearly understand the importance of working with parents to gain insight into their personal perspectives of their child, expecting, allowing and appreciating individual differences. Their commitment to open communication, collaborative problem solving and decision making between administrators, teachers and parents is the hallmark of their approach to education in the primary grades.

Two years on and with our daughter completing grade 1 at Cathedral School, we know we made the right decision, and for all the right reasons.”

“My son was diagnosed with leukemia during his kindergarten year at Cathedral School. If it wasn’t for the support that this small and loving school gave to my son and me, both emotionally and financially, we would not have gotten through this. My son had four years of daily chemotherapy and many trips to hospital. Each time the students, staff, church community, and the principal at Cathedral School surrounded us as if we were family. The difference that Cathedral School made in the life of my sick child is indescribable. Cathedral School was the one thing that stayed the same the whole time, and remains a stabilizing force in our lives today.

Cathedral School partakes in the annual Terry Fox event and every year my son and I are so proud to walk with the School in his honour. When I think about this school I feel all that is good in the world. Cathedral School exemplifies kindness, love and an expansive community spirit. In a world where our lives are so complicated and there is so much disconnect from family and spiritual life, Cathedral School is a haven that has given so much to my small family.”

“We enrolled our son at Christ Church Cathedral School as he was entering the Sixth Grade, and as he prepares to graduate from Eighth Grade we continue to be thankful for the exceptional educational experience he has had. While his school experiences prior to transferring to Christ Church Cathedral School were pleasant and varied, as parents we knew that he needed more out of the educational journey. The environment at the school has enabled him to explore learning in a positive, compassionate, and challenging way while celebrating his individuality and strengths. The wide-ranging nature of the program from academics to physical, social, and spiritual dimensions unquestionably facilitated his personal and learning development to ensure quality of life in an academic context. As a family, we have been deeply grateful for the Cathedral School experience. The strong staff and leadership at the school have made a significant difference in our son’s life and our family life.”

“Both of our children love attending Christ Church Cathedral School. They feel safe, respected and recognized for their individual abilities. We love the School because of the small class sizes, the quick attention to possible concerns, and the nurturing environment. The School has been wonderful for both of our children. We are thoroughly delighted!”

“We were so fortunate that eight years ago we found Cathedral School, because we are now, as my son graduates, both feeling quite melancholy about it, remembering all the years with all the accomplishments, growing pains and adventures that make up the road to becoming an adult. I have nothing but the highest regard for Cathedral School. You have allowed my son to grow and maintain his individuality, to find and see the positive traits in himself and, in a compassionate way, to help him to address and work on things he is not so strong at. Caring and compassion are such important things to give a child navigating his way through these formative years.

I wish I could do so much more for the School. You have done so much for us. Please know that Cathedral School will always be in our hearts and in our prayers.”

“Christ Church Cathedral School has been a positive experience for my daughter. She has attended the School for seven years and has received an excellent education. She has been immersed in an environment that has a very strong sense of community and has thrived in a school where all the teachers and the children know one another and care for each other. The leadership has been very capable and there have been many improvements, which have benefited the children, the parents and the teachers.”
